2018 Oscar Predictions: The Final Ballot

By Film School Rejects

We predict Sunday night’s winners with what we hope will be stunning accuracy.

On Sunday night, The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences will convene their annual party known to most as The Oscars. Jimmy Kimmel will once again host the show, which starts at 8 pm EST. And assuming no one messes up any of the envelopes, we’ll know all of the winners within several hours. Speeches will be made, family members will be thanked, and it’s likely that a few winners will be played off while trying to take a stand for their cause of choice. It happens every year.

And just as The Oscars happen every year, so does our tradition of predicting the winners. In past years, we’ve proudly handed our readers ballots that predict as many as 22 correctly predicted categories. We’re usually over 20 every year, save for a few outliers. So when we say that we can help you win your Oscar pool, we mean it.

With that in mind, here is our official Oscars ballot for 2018:

Team Individual Ballots

Since this is a team game, we’d also like to show off the team’s individual ballots. As you can see, there’s a lot of agreement among the members of FSR around certain categories, including a lot of hope that Roger Deakins finally gets his little gold man. And if Coco doesn’t win Best Animated Feature, we’re all screwed in our Oscar Party pools. Good luck to Aunt Estes, who has really been stanning for The Breadwinner. This could be her moment to shine.

If you’re looking for the ballot that represents that most mainstream consensus, it’s probably our Christopher Campbell. If you’re looking to predict some wild upsets, Neil Miller’s ballot sees a Dunkirk wave sweeping up a bunch of unexpected awards. And if you’d like to live in the most fun timeline where Get Out wins Best Picture, try Ciara Wardlow’s ballot.

No matter who’s ballot you choose, you can’t go wrong. Until you do.
