"This is what we're fighting." Roadside Attractions has debuted the first trailer for Roland Emmerich's new film Stonewall, a movie about the Stonewall Riots in New York City in the 1960s. Directed by Emmerich before he moved on to Independence Day: Resurgence, they recreated "the village" from Manhattan circa 1969 in a former train repair facility in Montreal to film this. The cast includes Jeremy Irvine, Jonny Beauchamp, Caleb Landry Jones, Joey King, up-and-comers Karl Glusman, Vlademir Alexis, and Alexandre Nachi as well as Jonathan Rhys Meyers & Ron Perlman. This actually looks really, really good. While there is a fun coming-of-age 60's vibe, this is also about the start of the LGBT rights movement.

The film stars Jeremy Irvine (War Horse), Jonny Beauchamp ("Penny Dreadful"), Caleb Landry Jones (X-Men: First Class), Joey King (White House Down) up-and-comers Karl Glusman, Vlademir Alexis, and Alexandre Nachi as well as veteran actor Matt Craven, with Jonathan Rhys Meyers (Match Point, "The Tudors") and Ron Perlman (Hellboy). Stonewall is directed by veteran filmmaker Roland Emmerich (White House Down, Anonymous, 2012) from a screenplay by Jon Robin Baitz. Roadside Attractions will release Stonewall in theaters on September 25th this fall.
