"I fear nothing. All is as the Force wills it." Disney + LucasFilm have unveiled the second trailer for Gareth Edwards' Rogue One: A Star Wars Story, the first spin-off in the Star Wars universe, in theaters this December. A short teaser showed during Star Wars Celebration in London and this new full-length trailer first aired during NBC's Olympics coverage. Starring Felicity Jones as Jyn Erso, plus Mads Mikkelsen, Donnie Yen, Ben Mendelsohn, Forest Whitaker, Diego Luna, Jonathan Aris, Riz Ahmed & Alan Tudyk, Rogue One is about a group of rebels who set out on a mission to steal the plans for the Death Star. This seriously looks amazing and I love how much this feels like it's a part of the original trilogy, yet still seems like something completely fresh. All this footage makes me happy. So many new characters to meet!

"Rogue One takes place before the events of Star Wars: A New Hope and will be a departure from the saga films but have elements that are familiar to the Star Wars universe," says Kathleen Kennedy. Rogue One tells the story of resistance fighters who have united to steal plans to the dreaded Death Star. It's being directed by English filmmaker Gareth Edwards, of the movies Monsters and Godzilla previously. The screenplay is credited to Chris Weitz (About a Boy, The Golden Compass, Cinderella) based on a story by John Knoll and Gary Whitta. Disney will release Gareth Edwards' Rogue One: A Star Wars Story in theaters everywhere starting December 16th, 2016 this year. For even more Star Wars updates, click here. You in?
