"We can do everything straight and still go broke." Paramount has debuted another new full-length trailer for Adam McKay's The Big Short, which is earning buzz after premiering at the AFI Fest in Los Angeles earier this month (read Marco's review here). The movie is about a group of bankers who see the financial crash about to come and attempt to plan around it. The film stars quite a cast of major actors: Christian Bale, Steve Carell, Ryan Gosling, Karen Gillan, Marisa Tomei, Melissa Leo, Rafe Spall and Brad Pitt. I still can't tell if this is a parody of a trailer for an actual drama about bankers in the financial crisis, or whether it's actually played this dry and melodramatic in the movie. I'm hoping there's more to laugh at.
Here's the second trailer for Adam McKay's The Big Short, direct from Paramount's YouTube:

When four outsiders saw what the big banks, media and government refused to, the global collapse of the economy, they had an idea: The Big Short. Their bold investment leads them into the dark underbelly of modern banking where they must question everyone and everything. Based on the surprisingly true story and best-selling book of the same name by Michael Lewis (The Blind Side, Moneyball), and directed by Adam McKay (Anchorman, Step Brothers, Anchorman 2, The Other Guys) The Big Short stars Christian Bale, Steve Carell, Ryan Gosling & Brad Pitt. The screenplay is written by Adam McKay & Charles Randolph. Paramount will open The Big Short in limited theaters starting December 11th with expansion later on.
