Stunner: Back to the Future Predicted 9/11

back-to-the-future-conspiracy

It’s almost October 21, 2015. That’s the day to which Marty McFly travels in Back to the Future II.

In the real world, we know that Marty wouldn’t find any Pepsi Perfect. He wouldn’t be able to don a sweet auto-fit jacket or self-lacing Nikes. And sadly, hoverboards aren’t a thing. But here’s something that he may have accurately predicted: the terrorist attacks on 9/11.

In a new conspiracy theory video emailed to us by a reader this morning, a YouTuber named barelyHuman11 has a breakdown of how Back to the Future predicted 9/11:

It’s a bizarre 12-minue ride into the mind of conspiracy theorist. It’s hard to know if the narrator is particularly serious about this theory or if it’s a joke. Either way, it’s completely captivating and I would suggest that someone get BTTF writer Bob Gale on the phone immediately. I think we need explanations for the following:

1.There’s a giant, burning 9/11 in the scene where the DeLorean zips off into the future.

2. The future version of Marty’s family watches a movie in October 2015 about the Twin Towers.

3. Robert Zemeckis released a movie in October 2015 about the Twin Towers. In it, Philippe Petit and Marty McFly (after just returning from 2015) are dressed almost identically.

4. Some deeply insane stuff about touching the Monolith from 2001

5. Okay, now you’re starting to lose me…

In looking over it again, it’s not the worst Back to the Future conspiracy theory (or viral marketing for The Walk) that I’ve seen. For those looking for a good laugh on this otherwise uneventful Monday, click through to that YouTube video’s comments. Oh, boy.
