"Hello Henry… Remember how you got here?" Holy moley! Get ready for this. The first official trailer has debuted for the "Biting Elbows" feature - Ilya Naishuller's Hardcore, which is playing at TIFF in Midnight Madness this month. Hardcore is the first action film to be shot 100% from "the hero's perspective", the feature version of that awesome POV short that everyone saw a few years ago plus others like Insane Office Escape. This looks crazy, with some weird sci-fi cyborg elements and a huge, complex story. Naishuller also rounded up one helluva cast: Sharlto Copley, Danila Kozlovsky, Haley Bennet, Andrey Dementiev, Dasha Charusha, and Sveta Ustinova. This trailer is very violent and NSFW - beware. You remember nothing. Mainly because you’ve just been brought back from the dead by your wife (Haley Bennett). She tells you that your name is Henry and congratulations, you’re now a cyborg. 5 minutes later, your wife has been kidnapped and you should probably go get her back. Who’s got her? His name’s Akan (Danila Kozlovsky), he’s just a psychotic megalomaniac with telekinetic powers, and a never-ending army of mercenaries. You’re also in an unfamiliar city of Moscow, Russia and everyone wants you dead. Everyone, except for a mysterious British fellow called Jimmy (Sharlto Copley). He might be on your side. Good luck Henry. You’re very much likely to need it… Hardcore is directed by Russian filmmaker Ilya Naishuller, of the "Biting Elbows" action shorts, presented by Timur Bekmambetov.
