One girl. One city. One night. One take. Adopt Films has debuted the official US trailer for award-winning (Silver Berlin Bear) German film Victoria, a thriller presented entirely in one-take, one-shot. As one of the quotes in this explains: "Victoria stunningly (merges) the chases from Run Lola Run and the magical realist feel of Birdman." The film stars Laia Costa as Victoria. This does look like it's going to be incredible to see in one-shot, there's so much that seems to happen in 2 hours. This is one film I missed at Berlinale, but I'm incredibly anxious to see it. Mostly because I have a feeling it might end up on my Top 10 list. Take a look.
Here's the first official trailer for Sebastian Schipper's Victoria, found on YouTube (via The Film Stage):
A movie shot in a single take about Victoria, a runaway party girl, who's asked by three friendly men to join them as they hit the town. Their wild night of partying turns into a bank robbery. Victoria is directed by German actor-filmmaker Sebastian Schipper, of the films Sometime in August, A Friend of Mine and Gigantics previously. The screenplay was co-written by Olivia Neergaard-Holm, Sebastian Schipper and Eike Frederik Schulz. Cinematography is by Sturla Brandth Grøvlen. The film first premiered at the Berlin Film Festival in February. Schipper's Victoria will be released by Adopt Films in the US this October 9th.
