You don't want to be on his list. Michael Dougherty's 2008 movie Trick 'r Treat is a bonafide modern Halloween horror classic, so it's fitting that Dougherty's follow-up is a Christmas horror movie. And it looks really good. At Comic-Con 2015 today, Legendary Pictures debuted the first teaser for Krampus, about the evil, twisted Christmas monster. The film has an Amblin-esque feel, with some humor and all of Dougherty's brilliant horror tricks. It stars Adam Scott, Toni Collette, David Koechner and Allison Tolman. Hopefully they'll release the teaser soon, but in the meantime, here's the first poster to get you in the mood.
Here's the first official teaser poster for Michael Dougherty's Krampus, direct from Legendary Pictures:
When his dysfunctional family clashes over the holidays, young Max (Emjay Anthony) is disillusioned and turns his back on Christmas. Little does he know, this lack of festive spirit has unleashed the wrath of Krampus: a demonic force of ancient evil intent on punishing non-believers. All hell breaks loose as beloved holiday icons take on a monstrous life of their own, laying siege to the fractured family’s home and forcing them to fight for each other if they hope to survive. Krampus is directed by up-and-coming filmmaker Michael Dougherty, of Trick 'r Treat previously. The script is by Todd Casey, Michael Dougherty & Zach Shields. Universal will release Legendary's Krampus in theaters starting on December 4th later this year.
