"You tell them I am here." Adding more demonic exorcism and found footage to the growing pile of tired horror is the new trailer for The Vatican Tapes . However, the film seems to employ a mix of found footage and basic narrative filmmaking as it follows a young woman (Olivia Taylor Dudley) possessed by some kind of dark force that catches local priest Father Lozano (Michael Pena) off guard, prompting him to call in experts from The Vatican to help. But what they encounter is far more sinister than any average demon as it appears the antichrist has arrived. It's another typical exorcism horror thriller. Watch below!
Here's the first trailer for Mark Neveldine's The Vatican Tapes , originally from Yahoo:
The Vatican Tapes is directed by Mark Neveldine (co-director Crank, Gamer, Ghost Rider: Spirit of Vengeance) and written by Christopher Borrelli (The Marine 2). The horror film follows the haunting tale of 27-year-old Angela Holmes (Olivia Taylor Dudley), an ordinary girl who begins to have a devastating effect on anyone close to her, causing serious injury and death. The local priest, Father Lozano (Michael Peña), examines Holmes and believes she is possessed, but when Vicar Imani (Djimon Hounsou) and Cardinal Bruun (Peter Andersson) are called from the Vatican to exorcise the demon, it proves to be an ancient satanic force more powerful than they imagined. Lionsgate releases the film this summer on May 22nd .
