Death Waltz Records to Open New Vinyl Soundtrack Store in the UK

Are record stores finally making a come back?! Maybe, maybe… While most remaining video rental shops slowly start closing their doors, on the other side of the world a record company has decided to open a brand new vinyl store located in the town of Margate in the UK. Death Waltz Records, known producing fresh vinyl copies of soundtracks old and new, has announced that they're opening an actual brick 'n mortar store in the UK that will be called Transmission Records . The store will "offer the very best in soundtracks, library and electronic music as well as an expertly curated selection of artworks and designer toys", with an emphasis on anime and Japanese soundtrack pressings, they say. This isn't really mainstream movie news, but as a cinephile and movie geek this is news I am always looking out for, as this place sounds cool already.

The brief news was revealed through The Vinyl Factory website, as well as via the @deathwaltzrecs Twitter account, with info confirming that it will be opening this June in Margate for those interested. "Created by Death Waltz Recording Company founder Spencer Hickman and artist Kimberley Holladay", Transmission is a record shop, toy shop and vinyl distributor that focuses on the very best in soundtracks and other pop culture artwork and toys. They're still selling copies of the A Girl Walks Home Alone at Night , It Follows , Candyman and Nosferatu soundtracks on vinyl on their site. Here's a video of some of Spencer's favorites:

We've always been a big fan of soundtracks, and often try to keep up with some of the vinyl releases as they arrive. There seems to be a rise in interest in vinyl recently, at least amongst certain movie lovers and horror aficionados, which helps keep places like Death Waltz Records in business. For more info on Transmission Records and their releases/availability (mostly in the UK only but still worth browsing) visit their official website at transmissionrecords.co.uk. The store will open in June, but leading up to then they will host "a launch event and after party at the new Margate Arts Club" as well as "a host of film screenings." Perfect way to commemorate the opening of this new shop. We'll also recommend everyone visit Death Waltz Records.
