Scott Adkins vs Michael Jai White *and* Ray Park? Yes please.
Bruce Lee, Jackie Chan, Michelle Yeoh, Tony Jaa, Iko Uwais, Nana Seino… what do these people all have in common? That’s right, they’re action stars who earn that label by showing off their fighting chops and kicking lots of onscreen ass. Skilled fighters make for the best action performers for obvious reasons, and one of the best of the current crop continues to be Scott Adkins.
He’s made recent strides into big-budget fare like Doctor Strange, Zero Dark Thirty, and American Assassin, but his greatest strengths are typically reserved for smaller, grittier action movies. They don’t get the same wide releases, but the best ones — Universal Soldier: Day of Reckoning, Eliminators, Ninja: Shadow of a Tear, and others — are well-worth seeking out on VOD and Blu-ray/DVD.
Adkins’ latest, Accident Man, belongs in this same grouping as it’s an action-filled romp delivering both laughs and plenty of fast-moving, smartly-choreographed fight scenes. The movie’s coming to home video tomorrow (2/6), but today we’re offering up a brief tease with a fight scene clip featuring Adkins taking on both Michael Jai White and Ray Park.
