“I’m 40 today and I don’t have anywhere to bury my wife.”
Some things come out of nowhere and light the Internet on fire. A number of them come from the folks at Funny or Die. This one specifically comes from director Jeremy Konner, who has executive produced shows like Drunk History and Another Period for Comedy Central. Simply put, it might be the best movie you’ll see in 2016.
Donald Trump’s The Art of the Deal: The Movie stars Johnny Depp as you’ve never seen him before, as legendary businessman Donald J. Trump. It imagines a world in which Donald Trump wrote, directed and starred in a movie about his bestselling book. It’s populated by an incredible cast of comedic talents, including Patton Oswalt, Henry Winkler, Jack McBrayer, Michaela Watkins, Jason Mantzoukas, Paul Scheer, Kristen Schaal, etc. The list goes on. But it’s Depp’s show. It’s full Depp, full Trump, full throttle comedy.
Surprising and surreal would be an accurate way to describe it, by any standard. The VHS quality of the video, the over-the-top parodies of Trump’s contemporaries are fantastic, and the hair piece is just right.
Set aside the next 50-minutes of your life and enjoy Donald Trump’s The Art of the Deal: The Movie. It’s everything we need right now.
