We’re about to enter a two month period in which fans of The Hunger Games will be able to precede everything about the franchise with “The Final.” With over $2.3 billion dollars in worldwide box office grosses and one movie left, The Hunger Games will ultimately land among the most successful franchises of the current decade, even if we assume that Marvel’s reign will continue and that Star Wars will be a monster draw. In its time, The Hunger Games has been a shining example that not only can the young adult genre be successful at the box office, but an action movie with a female heroine leading the way can be successful, as well. It’s place in history has already been pretty appropriately carved out.
And there’s still one more movie to go. Below you will find the final trailer for The Hunger Games: Mockingjay – Part 2, which appears to be the most action-packed installment yet. Jennifer Lawrence returns with some ferocity as Katniss Everdeen, whose conflict with The Capital and President Snow (Donald Sutherland) has escalated to its breaking point. The sides have been clearly drawn. It’s time to see what will become of the dystopian world of Panem.
