New Jurassic World Trailer is Big and Dumb and Full of Dino Danger

Jurassic World might not be about noble scientists thrusted into a world of unknown wonder and pre-evolutionary danger. According to this newest trailer for Colin Trevorrow’s upcoming fourth entry in the Jurassic Park franchise, this one is an all out assault that pits dinosaur vs. man, dinosaur vs. dinosaur and the rules of the universe vs. logic.

It’s hard for me to say that I’m not still interested in Jurassic World, even though I’m not entirely a fan of the direction this story seems to be heading. From a narrative standpoint, this feels a lot more like The Lost World or Jurassic Park 3. I’m still interested in seeing where it all lands and based on the trailers alone, the action looks bonkers. Will that make for a loving rebirth of a franchise that, for me, was the centerpiece of a childhood of movie watching? I’ve got my doubts. This looks dumb. But it could still be fun.

The official plot synopsis seems to be spot-on: “A man-made dinosaur terrifies tourists at a theme park.”

The good news is that the original Jurassic Park still exists, is available on Blu-ray and will never go away.

Jurassic World hits theaters on June 12. Along with the above trailer, Universal Pictures has also released a set of new posters — including Chris Pratt and his raptor buddies, who always ride together because they are a fast and furious family:
