The cast for Warner Bros. Pictures' adaptation of the DC Comics property Suicide Squad has been assembled for quite some time, but every now and then new names get added into the mix. Recent additions noticed when the cast was assembled for a photo by director David Ayer included Adam Beach and Ike Barinholtz. And now one more name has entered the mix in a mystery role with THR reporting that rapper turned actor Common, fresh off an Oscar win for Best Original Song earlier this year for the song "Glory" form Selma, has now joined the cast of the super villain assembly in the DC Comics cinematic universe.
As of now, there's no hints as to who Common could play, or whether or not it's a character that could recur in later movies in the DC cinematic universe. It's bound to be a pivotal role if a supporting star like Common was sought for the role, but we'll have to wait and see. For those who haven't kept up, the rest of the cast of Suicide Squad includes Jared Leto, Will Smith, Margot Robbie, Joel Kinnaman, Cara Delevingne, Viola Davis, Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje and Scott Eastwood. There have also been rumblings of Jesse Eisenberg and Ben Affleck popping up as Lex Luthor and Batman, but that hasn't been confirmed. Stay tuned.
