Watch: First Full Trailer for 'Miles Ahead' Biopic Starring Don Cheadle

Miles Ahead Trailer

"If you gunna tell a story… come with some attitude, man!" Sony Pictures Classics has unveiled the first official trailer for Don Cheadle's new film Miles Ahead, which already played the New York Film Festival and Sundance Film Festival so far. Don Cheadle stars as legendary jazz musician Miles Davis, with a cast including Keith Stanfield, Michael Stuhlbarg, Emayatzy Corinealdi and Ewan McGregor. This trailer is all over the place, with odd cuts and awkward scenes, but I think that's the point. Like jazz, it has no particular rhyme or reason, and jumps all over. Reviews for the film say that Cheadle "buries himself in the character. His version of Davis is a creature of paranoia and understated frustration…" Give it a watch.

Here's the first official trailer for Don Cheadle's Miles Ahead, originally embedded from EW.com:

Unlike most biopics, Miles Ahead focuses on just a few of the dangerous days that the jazz icon lived throughout his career as he busted out of his silent period and led up to the recording of his 1969 jaz-rock fusion album In a Silent Way. One such focus will be the time spent with a Rolling Stone writer as they tried to steal back his music, played by Ewan McGregor. The cast includes Michael Stuhlbarg (A Serious Man) and Emayatzy Corinealdi, as well as Austin Lyon and Chris Hahn. Miles Ahead is both written & directed by actor Don Cheadle. This first premiered at the New York Film Festival last year as the Closing Night film. Sony Pictures Classics will release Miles Ahead in select theaters starting April 1st, 2016 in a few months.
