"The word 'impossible', Mr. Booth, is only found in the dictionary of fools." A few weeks back my friend Jay West, a fellow movie geek and a contributor to this site (and many others), suddenly passed away. I miss him already… He was the first person I wanted to speak to the moment the news broke that Tron 3 might be shooting this year. Jay was one of the biggest fans of the Alien universe, with life-size sculptures in his home and collectibles of all kinds, but two of his other favorite movies were Tron (the original!) and The Black Hole , Disney's fantastic 1979 space thriller. So, in honor of Jay, the world famous Egyptian Theatre in Los Angeles is hosting a special screening of both Tron and The Black Hole back-to-back with special guests. I couldn't imagine a better way to honor a movie lover like Jay than with this kind of event.

Jay's special Tron + The Black Hole event will take place on Sunday, April 26th at 7:30pm, with tickets only $11 for both films showing back-to-back including "rare behind-the-scenes material between films" and special guest discussions. This is a must-attend event if you knew Jay, or if you're also a fan of both Tron and The Black Hole. Jay was a genuine movie-lover and sci-fi geek through-and-through, who spent much of his time collaborating with and encouraging a love for cinema. He was always at every major event, whether it was a small viral gig for Tron Legacy, or whether it was Comic-Con or WonderCon. In addition to writing for movie sites like this one, Jay was a integral part of many Tron fan groups, including the well-known Tron-Sector website. He was an outspoken fan who always reminded people how much joy these movies brought, as geeky as they may be. I wish he was able to attend this event, I know he'd love every second. This one really is for you, Jay.
