The Best Modern Teaser Trailer Ever - A24's Line Rider 'Slice' Trailer

Slice Movie Teaser Trailer

"Ready to get sliced?" Wha?! This teaser trailer is awesome! A24 has quietly revealed a new teaser trailer for the horror Slice, an indie comedy about a killer taking out pizza deliver guys. This teaser is based on the popular internet game "Line Rider" (play it here) and features a pizza delivery dude on a motorbike riding down through lines and pizza slice triangles. Eventually some footage appears in the pizza slices, but not much. A24 was going to release the film this year, but pushed it back until sometime in 2018. Slice stars mixtape master Chance The Rapper (aka Chance Bennett) and was filmed "quietly" in Chicago. The rest of the cast includes Zazie Beetz & Paul Scheer. I'm still excited to see this. Seems like it might be a goofy, fun comedy about pizza delivery drivers trying to stay alive in the midst of these killings. Enjoy this teaser.

Here's the newest teaser trailer (+ poster) for Austin Vesely's Slice, direct from A24's YouTube:

Slice Movie Poster

You can still watch the other teaser trailer for Austin Vesely's Slice here, to see a tiny bit of footage.

When a pizza delivery driver is murdered on the job, the city searches for someone to blame: ghosts? drug dealers? a disgraced werewolf? Slice is both written and directed by Chicago-based filmmaker Austin Vesely, making his feature directorial debut after working on some of Chance The Rapper's music videos and a short film. He's also shooting a horror film next titled Kingfisher. THR says the film was "quietly shot over the summer in Chicago" and "takes place in a mysterious city, and centers around an enigmatic outlaw framed for a killing spree that targets unsuspecting pizza delivery boys." A24 will release Slice in theaters sometime in early 2018, though no exact date is set yet. Follow them @A24. Stay tuned for more. Who's in?

Official UK Trailer for 'The Silence of the Lambs' Theatrical Re-Release

The Silence of the Lambs Trailer

"Believe me, you don't want Hannibal Lecter inside your head." BFI has debuted a trailer for their restored re-release of the serial killer thriller classic The Silence of the Lambs. First released in early 1991, the movie went on to win Best Picture at the Oscars, as well as Best Actor, Best Actress, Best Director and Best Screenplay. The BFI is re-releasing it as part of their "thriller season" this fall, and will play it in cinemas around the UK. No word on a US re-release, but it doesn't seem like anything is in the works. The Silence of the Lambs stars Jodie Foster as a young FBI agent who tries to work with the iconic serial killer Hannibal Lecter, played by Anthony Hopkins, to hunt and find a murderer named Buffalo Bill. The cast includes Scott Glenn, Anthony Heald, Kasi Lemmons, and Frankie Faison. This film was such a huge success it inspired 3 sequels, not to mention a fascination with serial killers. Definitely worth seeing in the cinema.

Here's the new UK trailer for re-release of Jonathan Demme's The Silence of the Lambs, on YouTube:

The Silence of the Lambs Poster

FBI agent Clarice Starling (Jodie Foster), a specialist in serial killers, is fresh out of training and on the hunt for psychopathic murderer Buffalo Bill before his female body count rises. She adopts a high-risk strategy in visiting the imprisoned, dangerous and highly intelligent psychiatrist Dr Hannibal Lecter (Anthony Hopkins) for his insight, but Lecter wants something in return from her that goes far beyond the acceptable. In Lecter and Starling author Thomas Harris created an unforgettable duo, and Hopkins and Foster perfectly capture this disturbing relationship on screen. Showered with awards upon its release, this is one of the great thrillers of the last 30 years, and remains as vital and horrific today. The Silence of the Lambs was directed by Jonathan Demme (of only Married to the Mob, Swing Shift, Stop Making Sense, Something Wild at the time), and was first released in February of 1991. The BFI will re-release the film in theaters in the UK starting November 3rd this fall. Theater listings here. Who wants to go see this?

Stephen King Adaptations: A Terrifyingly Inconsistent Supercut

By Jacob Oller

An author so prolific that this video is already out of date.

Stephen King has been trying to work himself to death after realizing how scary all his books turn out, but some terrible curse is keeping him alive. That’s alternatingly good and bad for movie fans, who’re subject to adaptations of his work with increasing frequency.

This year alone will see a handful of movies (both theatrical and streaming) and a few TV shows. Some made bigger splashes than others, but they’re all alive with the potential greatness that exists within King’s work. They’re also prone to wild failure, but that’s the risk of adapting one of the best living authors. Sometimes things click and sometimes ambition can’t replicate the magic.

Jacob T. Swinney supercut every King adaptation together (up to the point of the video’s release), reminding us that while the films are inconsistent, so was the source material. Some just set their directors up for success a little more than others, but all are undeniably born from the same demented soul.

A Gray State - Trailer

  A Gray State - Trailer
In 2010 David Crowley, an Iraq veteran, aspiring filmmaker and charismatic up-and-coming voice in fringe politics, began production on his film 'Gray State.' Set in a dystopian near-future where civil liberties are trampled by an unrestrained federal government, the film’s crowd funded trailer was enthusiastically received by the burgeoning online community of libertarians, Tea Party activists and members of the nascent alt-right. In January 2015, Crowley was found dead with his family in their suburban Minnesota home. Their shocking deaths quickly become a cause célèbre for conspiracy theorists who speculate that Crowley was assassinated by a shadowy government concerned about a film and filmmaker that was getting too close to the truth about their aims. Directed by Grizzly Man producer Erik Nelson and Executive Produced by Werner Herzog, 'A Gray State' combs through Crowley’s archive of 13,000 photographs, hundreds of hours of home video, and exhaustive behind-the-scenes footage of Crowley’s work in progress to reveal what happens when a paranoid view of the government turns inward — blurring the lines of what is real and what people want to believe.
