2017 Golden Globes Nominees - 'La La Land', 'Moonlight' + 'Deadpool'

Golden Globes

The list of nominations for the 74th Annual Golden Globe Awards (of 2017), the yearly precursor to the Academy Awards, have just been announced today - you can find all the film nominees below. The infamous Hollywood Foreign Press Association announced the nominees this morning from The Beverly Hilton. The selection this year is impressive, but as always it's full of some wacky and eye-brow-raising picks, and a few snubs (of course - like Michael Shannon from, well, anything). The top nominees are Damien Chazelle's La La Land (with 7 noms), Barry Jenkins' Moonlight and Kenneth Lonergan's Manchester by the Sea; with a surprise appearance from Deadpool. Another fascinating year of picks but not that surprising for the HFPA.

The 74th Annual Golden Globe Awards will take place on Sunday, January 8th, 2017 at The Beverly Hilton hosted by Jimmy Fallon with a live telecast airing on NBC. Here's the full list of 2017's nominees.

So there you have it. The nominees from 2016 for the Golden Globe awards. There's actually some great films featured in this selection, not only oddball picks like Deadpool and Florence Foster Jenkins, but tons of underrated movies such as Sing Street, Hacksaw Ridge, Hell or High Water and Lion. Some other interesting notes: Martin Scorsese's Silence is nowhere to be found (Finding Dory is missing as well), and Fences only got a few acting nominations. Arrival, despite plenty of other nominations, didn't end up with a Best Picture nomination. The best score category is excellent, with some fantastic picks all around.
