With every new trailer, the BBC One/AMC collab spy thriller The Night Manager continues to look more and more like one of the can’t-miss TV engagements of 2016. The six episode miniseries, which stars Tom Hiddleston as a clandestine agent who is trying to stop a dangerous arms dealer played by Hugh Laurie, is from John le Carre, a mastermind of intrigue.
This new trailer gives us a look that we might not already associate with le Carre’s work. Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy was a lot of things, but sexy probably wasn’t one of them. The Night Manager appears to have more Bond in its blood than previously thought, which should drive fans of Tom Hiddleston appropriately wild.
The promise of Hugh Laurie and Hiddleston matching wits in a twisty turny sexy spy thriller is almost too much. I’m sure we’ll all survive. It won’t be long now. The Night Manager debuts on BBC One February 22, with its American debut on AMC scheduled for April 19.
