I like Sprite, but we’re not friends (our relationship is abuse, if I’m being honest). I know a lot of people who love the films of the Star Wars franchise and spend more money on that relationship than the real people in their lives. Does that count?
If it’s possible, I think it’s safe to say that people my age can be friends with Pixar. For the last 20 years, we’ve been enjoying their movies, meeting their characters and to some extent, learning and living through their stories. In this respect, Pixar may be one of the most significant brands for the Millennial generation alongside Apple or Facebook.
This new video, a promotional piece for Pixar’s next movie The Good Dinosaur, isn’t really about the studio’s relationship with the audience. It’s about the friendships that exist within their films. But it got me thinking: are we friends with Pixar? We might be.
