Halloween is fast approaching! That’s right, the official holiday of JFC! Come on, are you at all surprised? It is a day wherein neighborhood homes literally become junk food dispensaries!
But believe it or not, there is something about Halloween we love even more than the candy: horror films! For the next couple of weeks, we’re going to be talking about our favorite underrated horror sequels! We know that many successful horror franchises shamble like zombies through innumerable iterations, hacking and slashing at their own credibility until they are left only with the ghosts of the box office returns they once enjoyed. However, there are the occasional sequels that manage to deliver the goods in remarkable ways!
First up, and in honor of the recent passing of the legendary horror filmmaker, is Wes Craven’s New Nightmare. Are you ready for Freddy? Well too bad! Because this time it’s not Freddy! Well, it’s kind of Freddy…but not really…look, just watch the movie and then listen to us wax nightmarish about this meta-as-hell seventh entry.
