What you see above is a very clear look at Kylo Ren, the bad guy from Star Wars: The Force Awakens played by Adam Driver. It’s another release from the folks at Empire Magazine, whose big Star Wars issue hits shelves this coming Thursday. It’s perhaps our best look at Ren wielding what Empire is calling his “broadsaber,” or Lightsaber with a broadsword design. It looks gnarly and imperfect, completely dangerous. The broadsaber alone makes everything about Ren feel more rough and dangerous. It’s hard not to be excited about the way this looks and what it means for the new trilogy, which is that the people behind it seem to be fearlessly paving new ground.
