Magic Mike XXL Trailer: These Are the Best Parts of the Movie

The marketing of the sequel to Magic Mike has so far been brilliant, and this new full-length trailer for Magic Mike XXL is no exception. I’m sure the best parts of the movie aren’t really shown here, in spite of the punny claim. Although, it’s hard to imagine anything better than Joe Manganiello‘s bit with the Pepsi fridge.

The boys are back, and in the tradition of Police Academy and Revenge of the Nerds, their sequel is taking them to a convention. Unlike those movies, though, this event isn’t held in Florida, so the Tampa-based Magic Mike (Channing Tatum), Big Dick Richie (Manganiello), Ken (Matt Bomer), Tarzan (Kevin Nash) and Tito (Adam Rodriguez) have to go on a road trip.

Along the way and once they get to their Myrtle Beach destination, these male strippers encounter Andie MacDowell, Donald Glover and Jada Pinkett Smith, all of whom can be seen in the trailer, as well as Amber Heard, who takes on the role of Tatum’s love interest, and Elizabeth Banks, who I keep hoping is playing her character from Pitch Perfect to get that unlikely crossover happening.

Here’s the official plot synopsis via Warner Bros.:

Picking up the story three years after Mike bowed out of the stripper life at the top of his game, “Magic Mike XXL” finds the remaining Kings of Tampa likewise ready to throw in the towel. But they want to do it their way: burning down the house in one last blow-out performance in Myrtle Beach, and with legendary headliner Magic Mike sharing the spotlight with them.

On the road to their final show, with whistle stops in Jacksonville and Savannah to renew old acquaintances and make new friends, Mike and the guys learn some new moves and shake off the past in surprising ways.

Magic Mike XXL opens for business on July 1st. And then it’s both bro-time and showtime.
