This Week's SW Celebration Panels to Stream Live on StarWars.com

Big news Star Wars fans everywhere! This is the week it all goes down. Kicking off Thursday, April 16th, is the Ultimate Fan Experience - Star Wars Celebration Anaheim. The hype has been building to this event because they're finally bringing it home to Disney (it's taking place at the Anaheim Convention Center literally behind Disneyland) and we all know that J.J. Abrams is about to bring us a new Star Wars movie later this year. So will there be teases? New footage? Lots of discussion? Yes, yes, and more yes. But best of all, if you're unable to attend, StarWars.com has announced that they've partnered with Verizon to stream all of the panels from SW Celebration, including all the exclusive footage. Whoa, what?! Yes way! Read on.

There's a lot going on during Star Wars Celebration, with tons of panels and events of all kinds, but the good news is that they're definitely planning to bring live streaming coverage of the actual main panels with J.J. Abrams and everyone else. Here's the big chunk of details included in the reveal from StarWars.com today:

Verizon and StarWars.com will deliver 30-plus hours of live streamed content following Thursday’s Celebration kickoff, featuring over a dozen panels and events, including discussions with actors Mark Hamill, Carrie Fisher, Anthony Daniels, Billy Dee Williams, Ian McDiarmid, and several other performers associated with the Star Wars saga. Additionally, StarWars.com and Verizon will be live streaming the Star Wars Fan Film Awards; the Smuggler’s Bounty radio drama; EA’s new Battlefront videogame; and several other exclusive Celebration events that might otherwise be missed by members from Star Wars’ global fan community.

Between the live, on-stage events, StarWars.com will feature live interviews with celebrity guests within the Star Wars Cantina set specially built to capture the mood and atmosphere of the infamous Mos Eisley watering hole from A New Hope. These segments will have a fun, variety show flavor to them that brings a bit of the Star Wars Celebration vibe to those enjoying the event from afar.

Sounds like this will be everything we wanted to see without having to actually attend in Anaheim. Footage?

Yes, yes and more yes! The new trailer will be revealed on Thursday, along with new footage streamed, too.

For those looking to view online, the live streaming begins at 10:00AM PST, Thursday, April 16th, on StarWars.com with the Celebration kickoff panel and continues with 30-plus hours of coverage through the closing ceremony on Sunday, April 19th, beginning at 3:30PM PST. The streaming will be hosted by YouTube, powered by Verizon, and run by StarWars.com at the Star Wars Celebration event. We have been teasing a few details about the appearance at Celebration, but it sounds like they're going all out bringing in everyone and making this weekend the premiere time for Star Wars (and The Force Awakens) to be in the spotlight again. Stay tuned for updates and additional coverage from FS.net and pretty much everyone else.
