Briefly: Back in February of 2014, months before The Equalizer had hit theaters, Sony Pictures was said to already be working on a sequel to the action thriller starring Denzel Washington. And at CinemaCon last night, the studio confirmed that the follow-up will indeed be moving forward with the script still coming from the first film's writer, Richard Wenk (The Expendables 2, Mechanic). Washington will be back in the led role, and he'll likely be the only returning cast member from the first film. As for director Antoine Fuqua, it's not clear if he'll be back behind the camera, but we'll see how long this one takes to develop.
