
Oddball veteran filmmaker David Lynch announced in a flurry of tweets earlier today that he is leaving Showtime's revival series of his mould-breaking TV show Twin Peaks, which originally aired back in 1990.Lynch was set to direct the 9-episode event series based on scripts already written by himself and original co-creator Mark Frost. Lynch stated "After 1 year and 4 months of negotiations, I left because not enough money was offered to do the script the way I felt it needed to be done".This will be a huge blow for Showtime, who have already reassembled a number of the show's original cast members, including Kyle MacLachlan, Sheryl Lee, Sherilyn Fenn, Ray Wise and Lara Flynn Boyle.
