Nearly a couple weeks ago, Mr. Holmes was set for a release in July this summer. And now the new approach to the iconic detective and logical mind has just debuted another international teaser trailer with Ian McKellen taking the spotlight. It doesn't give much away in the vein of the story, and it's edited rather weirdly with a black fade encapsulating the images and narrowing the scope of view, even though those images don't appear that way in the film. It's a very odd choice, especially considering is doesn't add much to the proceedings and isn't meant to hide. Anyway, Alex loved this at Berlin, and I'm excited to see it.

Mr. Holmes, or A Slight Trick of the Mind which is the title of Mitch Cullin's novel this story is based on, is directed by Oscar winner Bill Condon (of Gods and Monsters, Kinsey, Dreamgirls, The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn, The Fifth Estate previously) from a script he co-wrote with Jeffrey Hatcher. An aged, retired Sherlock Holmes (Ian McKellen) looks back on his life, and grapples with an unsolved case involving a beautiful woman.The film premiered at the Berlin Film Festival earlier this year (read Alex's glowing review).
